In an attempt to develop the whole person, Whisper Running promotes the following resources and services for runners and families involved in the program.
SPORTS MEDICINE
A former collegiate and professional track and field athlete, Dr. Wos understands the physical demands associated with performing at a high level. Her unique areas of interest include youth athletics, endurance events. and educating patients about nutrition. Dr. Wos earned BS degrees in biology and political science, an MS in human nutrition and functional medicine, and an Osteopathic Medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences in Lebanon, Oregon.
Dr. Melissa Novak is a primary care sports medicine doctor. She has a special interest in adolescent and young adult female athletes. Dr. Novak has expertise in bone health and what is called the "female athlete triad" -- low energy, menstrual dysfunction and low bone density. Dr. Novak serves as team physician for Portland State University, providing sports medicine care for varsity athletes in the PSU training room, in her OHSU clinic, and on the field during athletic events.
Nutrition
A runner at Michigan State University, Michelle was a 2-time All American, Big Ten Champion, 3-time Academic All-American, and in 2003 was awarded the George Alderton Female Athlete of the Year award. She also represented Canada at 3 World XC Championships. Michelle consults for the Portland Trail Blazers as their team Dietitian, consults with the University of Portland, and regularly speaks to several local high schools and sports clubs, including Whisper Running.
Cortney ran cross country and track at The University of Cincinnati. She now resides in Vancouver, WA, where she continues to race competitively. Cortney specializes in REDs (relative energy deficiency in sport). She is dedicated to guiding runners in healing their relationship with food, fueling their bodies properly, and achieving their best performance. She holds a Bachelor’s in Nutrition from the University of Cincinnati and earned a Master’s in Public Health from Liberty University.
PHYSICAL THERAPY
At Washougal Sport & Spine, Kyle is a leader in running rehabilitation & performance. He’s a certified running coach through RRCA and he will develop training programs to maximize the athlete’s performance. Kyle uses a bio-mechanical approach to evaluate the entire athlete through video gait analysis, movement screening, and sports specific testing. His approach is focused on detecting and correcting faults in movements before they effect performance.
Adria is a Physical Therapist who loves helping the injured runner get back to running as soon as possible. Her curiosity, as well as her thorough evaluation and thoughtful approach to care assures that each patient will receive specialized treatment. Adria will develop a specific program and plan of care to fit your unique goals while making sure to help you avoid any future injuries. She will leave you with tools to keep you running healthy and happy!
Evan is a PT at Evolution Healthcare & Fitness in Portland. After one year of soccer at Ohio Northern University, Evan shifted gears to focus on the sport of triathlon, now competing professionally on the Ironman North American circuit. Evan specializes in multiple sports injuries including all lower extremity endurance sports related issues, as well as post-op ACL surgery. Coaching and endurance sports consultations are also services that he provides at this time

Sean is dedicated to coaching and helping people of all ages to get out and run! He can be found in the store, helping staff and customers, and is involved in every aspect of Foot Traffic operations.
