10:30am-Noon
*AT LEAST ONE PARENT IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND THIS SEMINAR
WHEN: Running practice will be 9:00-10:15am, then we head to Foster Hall for the seminar.
WHERE: Practice will begin in O’Connell Sports Center 204 at Clark College 1933 Fort Vancouver Way. Heading north on Fort Vancouver Way, you’ll take the first entrance into Clark College and park in Red 1 or Red 2 (parking lot), which is located in front of OSC. When walking into OSC, take the first set of stairs to the second floor, and go left at the top of the stairs into 204, where runners sign-in, and the practice overview will begin shortly after 9am. Training will take place at one or more of the following locations:
Fort Vancouver Regional Park
1k loop on the NW corner of Fort Vancouver Way and E McLoughlin Blvd.
Hudson’s Bay HS Track
Memory/Mill Plain Park track on SW corner of Mill Plain Blvd and E Reserve St.
Leverich Park
WHAT TO BRING/WEAR: Runners should come dressed and ready to run. For cooler mornings, runners should have a short sleeve shirt beneath a long sleeve shirt, with a windbreaker style jacket as their outer layer. Keep in mind that layers can be easily removed and tied around their waist while running will benefit them. As long as the temps are above freezing, most runners should be comfortable wearing running shorts. Runners should also bring water in a reusable water bottle (no plastic water bottles) and a light snack to consume after the run and after cross-training. Coach Dave will have bananas and bagels for the kids. Have a towel in the car in case they are wet.
All registered Whisper Runners are welcome to join. Not a member? Go here to find out more about Whisper Summer Training.
