USATF Junior Olympic XC National Championship

Meet Location: Yahara Hills Golf Course in Madison, Wisconsin. Click here for directions from the team hotel (below) to the course.

Travel: PDX to Milwaukee is a viable option for Madison.

Lodging: Rooms are being held under the name “Whisper Running Club” at the Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor’s Club in Madison, WI. The check-in and check-out dates on hold are Thursday-Sunday, December 12-15 but you can modify as needed to stay fewer days. If you would like to arrive sooner or stay later, you will need to call 888-603-8747.

FRIDAY
Course Preview:
I will plan to be at Yahara Hills Golf Course for our course preview at 11:30am. This will provide a good opportunity to practice your pre-race meal (breakfast) prior to the course preview.

USATF Opening Ceremonies: Alliant Energy Center at Veterans Memorial Coliseum, 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way, Madison, WI 53713, 4:30pm-6:15pm.

Dinner: We are going to take a shot at trying to get into Paisan’s Restaurant, which is 1/2 mile from the hotel. Once we leave the Opening Ceremonies, Coach Dave will go directly to the restaurant to reserve a spot for 30 (or more). Weather permitting, walking to the restaurant is encouraged, rather than driving. This will allow time for Coach to get the tables, and allow the team two walk back to the hotel after dinner. We will have a brief team meeting either immediately after dinner (while at the restaurant) or back at the hotel.

SATURDAY
Breakfast: Eat what you normally eat. Drink plenty of water.

Whisper Runners: If the weather is good, please arrive at the race venue no later than 90-minutes prior to the start of your race. If the weather is intolerable, please arrive no later than 60-minutes prior to the start of your race.
