  • Whisper Running Vancouver, WA 98684 USA (map)

Welcome to Winter Training!

Who: All athletes registered in Winter Training at Whisper Running.

WHAT: College Admissions Landscape seminar.

A few extra miles!: Intermediate and advanced distance runners are planning to meet for some easy miles at 4:30pm in the Red 1 or Red 2 parking lot at Clark College, prior to the seminar. If you would like to run 4-6 miles prior to the mobility session, meet Coach Dave in the Red 1 or 2 parking lot at 4:30pm and we will head out for an easy run together. Belongings may be left in the bed of Coach Dave’s truck prior to departing for the run.

College Admissions Landscape and the Student Athlete
Presented by Heather Holly-Freitag of Options Abound
Athletes in grades 8-12 should attend, along with one or both parents/guardians.

*AT LEAST ONE PARENT IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND THIS SEMINAR

WHEN: Optional run, 4:30-5:30pm, followed by seminar, 6-7pm.

WHERE:

SEMINAR LOCATION: Foster Auditorium in Foster Hall 126. Those arriving for only the seminar (not joining the 4:30pm run) should park in Red 3. Click here to view a campus map.

WHAT TO BRING/WEAR: Those running should come dressed and ready to run. For cooler evenings, runners should have a short sleeve shirt beneath a long sleeve shirt, with a windbreaker style jacket as their outer layer, AND a headlamp. Keep in mind that layers can be easily removed and tied around their waist while running will benefit them. As long as the temps are above freezing, most runners should be comfortable wearing running shorts. Runners should also bring water in a reusable water bottle (no plastic water bottles) and a light snack to consume after the run (no food in the auditorium). For those attending the seminar, bring a notepad and pen/pencil.

REGISTRATION: See our Winter Training page for further details, including registration.
